With the advent of social media, trends keep coming and going. Now, a latest weight loss trend, which is currently going viral is the 'tadpole water' trend. GenZ girls are going all gaga over this trend. All you need is a bottle of warm water, a couple tablespoons of chia seeds, and a squeeze of fresh lemon - and you are good to go. The name 'Tadpole water' comes from its stark resemblance to baby frogs swimming in a pond.
People have been sharing videos on social media in recent weeks, showcasing recipes and results. They claim that the concoction is great for weight loss, easing bloating and granting good gut health. One person shared a video on TikTok claiming the drink has helped her lose "a pound a day" within a time span of three days. Known as @This.is.not_mariah, she described the texture and taste of the drink as "funky", but did accept that "if it helps it helps".
Chia seeds have surged in popularity in recent years as a superfood by many nutritionists and health experts. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fibre, antioxidants, and various micronutrients, chia seeds are often incorporated into a variety of dishes and beverages. One popular preparation is chia water, where chia seeds are soaked in water until they form a gel-like consistency.
