Neeraj Chopra Diet Plan During Paris Olympics
Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the Men’s Javelin Throw event at the recently concluded Paris Olympics. The Indian javelin thrower finished second and came up with a throw of 89.45m. Earlier at the Tokyo Olympics, he won the gold medal with a throw of 87.58m and became India’s first track and field athlete to win gold at the Olympic stage.
Chopra is the only Indian athlete to win a gold and silver medal at the Olympics. While there have been three other Indian athletes (after independence) to win two Olympic medals, Neeraj is the only one who has won another medal after achieving the golden glory.

Neeraj Chopra’s Diet Plan
Breakfast
For breakfast, Chopra eats fruits, yoghurt, oats, three to four egg whites, omelette along with two pieces of bread. Along with this, he eats a few dry fruits and drinks juice or coconut water.
Lunch
For lunch, the star javelin star eats curd with rice. He also consumes pulses, vegetables, grilled chicken and salad.
Snack
For snacking, Chopra prefers to eat chia seeds, dry fruits and bananas along with juice or coconut water.
Dinner
For dinner, his usual dinner consists of soup, boiled vegetables, salads, fruits and other protein-rich foods.
Snack
After dinner snacks include milk, dates and sometimes jaggery.
In an interview, Chopra also revealed his dietary preferences. When the interviewer asked him if he was a vegetarian, he said that he has started consuming non-vegetarian food. “I was a vegetarian but suddenly, my weight started to drop. My physical activity was the same but my diet was less. That is when people around me told me that I should eat (non-vegetarian food).”
Chopra adds he would continue to eat a non-vegetarian diet till the time he is playing the sport. However, after he stops playing, he would like to resort to a vegetarian diet.
Speaking about supplements, Chopra said that depending on what his body requires, he takes supplements. As per the requirements, he chooses between Vitamin D and C and proteins. “Depending on the conditions, I drink 1-2 protein shakes a day. It is usually one but if I am undergoing heavy training, then 2 (protein shakes a day.)”
Chopra in the interview also shares his choice of protein. He says that he consumes fish, eggs, chicken or paneer. Sometimes, he also adds tofu to his salad.

Chopra’s training includes extensive work with medicine balls and focuses heavily on strength training, especially for his arms and elbows. He also performs cable pull exercises that target the shoulders, elbows and arm muscles. To strengthen his shoulder, Chopra also performs front and side lifts with dumbbells.
