Anushka Sharma, in an interview, revealed that she eats the same food every day sometimes. A monotropic diet, also known as Mono Diet, is a form of diet wherein you eat only one food item or one type of food every day. This is known to have several benefits, one of which is weight loss. Dr Pal Manickam, Gastroenterologist and Holistic Health Advocate speaks about the benefits of a monotropic diet.
Dr Pal says that the diet is simple and convenient. “It is simple, convenient and more importantly, you can be consistent in your portion size. And, it also reduces decision fatigue and prevents the impulsiveness to eat more. When you’re pre-planning it, you need to make sure you hit all the macros on a daily basis.”
In the interview, Sharma says, “I literally think I ate idli sambar for breakfast for maybe like six months.”
Explaining the same, Dr Pal says that “the fermentation in the idli and the lentil in the sambar has given her good gut bacteria that stimulated her gut skin axis so that all the absorption of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants have happened beautifully and that is the result of her glowing skin.”
