The name Balasana is derived from the Sanskrit words “Bala” which means “Child” and “asana” which means “posture”. The pose also has several other health benefits.
But first, take a look at how to perform the pose correctly.
Start by sitting on your heels.
Then keep your hips on the heels, bend forward, and lower your forehead. Try to touch your forehead to the floor.
Keep the arms alongside your body with your hands on the floor and your palms facing up.
Press your chest on the thighs and hold on to this pose for a few minutes and breathe.
Slowly come up to sit on the heels and relax.
